Creating a Clout Build
Overview
When creating a clout build there's a few importaint things to note: 1. With any build, stats are choosen based on units, not units based on stats. 2. The two primary stats for clouters are Clout and Tactics. Clouters can do just fine with 5 education (10 for Leviathans) and 5 Mech Apt. The following sections list breakpoints for stats. A breakpoint is an effective value for a stat. Stats between breakpoints will not have much impact on maxed units. Core Clout Poccers
The following is a list of what I consider the core poccing units for clouters. Relay Poccers: Knell Medic Walking Poccers: Behemoth Leviathan Mlortha Phasic Poccers: Wraith Tact Breakpoints
80 - 10 Units. 100 - 11 Units. 120 - 12 Units, Unlocks Jorias. NOTE: Playing under 80 tact will derasticly hurt your effectiveness. Clout Breakpoints
80 - Wraith Mk8, Behemoth Mk8, All Generic Organic 84 - Leviathan Mk6 90 - Medic Mk8 100 - All Generic Organic 108 - Wraith Mk9, Behemoth Mk9 110 - Leviathan Mk7 118 - Medic Mk9 120 - All Generic Organic NOTE: Less than 80 clout would not be considered a clout build. Education Breakpoints
5 - Most units 10 - Leviathan (Ballistic Shield) 30 - Orbus (Shield Generator), All Units (TL-75 CPU) 40 - Wraith (Phasic Biodrive) 42 - Behemoth (TL-81 Armor) 82 - Behemoth (TL-101 Armor) Mech Apt. Breakpoints
5 - Most Units 13 - Roc + Boosters (30+ Edu) 16 - Roc + Boosters (5-29 Edu) 18 - Medics* * NOTE: This is barer than bare in my opinion, but enough for the TL-61 armor. I would suggest getting enough MA for a basic sensor and possibly heal if you are okay at using it. Putting it Together
In the example below I'll be designing a 236 point build (non-reincarnated PR 10). The first step is to decide what units you want to play. Generally it's best not to mix specific units. For example, the relay poccers take higher clout (and in the case of Medics, more MA), therefore you probably shouldn't mix them with Behemoths which take a lot of Education. When you've chosen which units you want to play the next step is to select the clout breakpoint that matches those units and set aside that many points. For my build I'll use Wraiths (108 breakpoint), Leviathans x2 (110 breakpoint). So I'll set aside 110 points for clout. That leaves me with 126 points remaining. The next step is to pick a tact breakpoint. If you can do it 120 is always best, but for my build I only have 126 points left, and at least 10 of those points must go to education and MA (because no stat can be below 5). So I'll choose 100 tact. That leaves me with 26 points Education is the next place we plan for. I'm using Leviathans so I absolutely need 10 education so I can get the ballistic shield. That means I only have 16 points to allocate. Now for MA. Since I didn't get 120 tact I'm going to have to use Rocs to phase my wraiths around. 16 MA is the breakpoint for getting boosters on Rocs so I'll spend my remaining points in MA. As a general rule most people put the remaining points into MA, but if you're really devoted to making a good build you should use the Virtual Lab over at www.sgtofu.com and figure out where those remaining points help the most. Generic Clout Builds
Relay Poccer Build Tact: 100/120 Clout: 90/100/118/120 Education: 5+ MA: 18+ Units: Knells and Medics Basic Poccer Build Tact: 100/120 Clout: 110 Education: 10/30 MA: 5+ Units: Wraiths, Leviathans Heavy Poccer Build Tact: 120 Clout: 110 Education: 42 MA: 5+ Units: Wraiths, Leviathans, Behemoths Last Words
Relay Poccers are typically for low PR players (12 or less). Higher PR players should play heavier poccers. It is common for clouters to have one set of War Pigeons to help clear if needed. This is recommended especially for higher PR players. Advertisements
