Hero Creation
New Commander
![]() It is important not to mess up your stats during the hero creation process; Therefore, this guide was created to help ensure the hero you start with is a good one. To create a hero so you can begin playing, load up the game and then select new commander from the menu (see figure 1). If you haven't downloaded Shattered Galaxy yet, run over to www.sgalaxy.com and get it. Choosing Your Username
![]() On the create ID screen, enter in an ID of your choosing and a password. The ID will be your in-game name so choose it wisely. Your e-mail will be used in case you ever need to recover your password. Figure 2 shows an example of the information needed to create a hero. Choosing Your Commander
![]() The first thing to do on the select commander screen is to pick a commander from the left. The commander model doesn't have any effect on game play. If your hero is paid you can select from two additional hero models, one male, one female, or change your hero model at any time from the war room at sgalaxy.com. Now you must choose your starting stats. This is the most critical part of the hero creation process, so to help you decide I'll explain the effect of each stat and some reasons to pick specific stats. Breakdown of the Stats
A each stat has a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 120 (100 for non-paying heroes). And you can accumulate a maximum of 236 stat points (for leveling each division, infantry, mobile, aviation, and organic to level 50). You can break the 236 point cap by participating in an event that happens 4 times a year called reincarnation. Tactics - Increases the number of units you can have in battle at one time. At the start you can only have 6 units to a battle at one time, for every 20 points you put into tactics you can bring in an additional unit. At max tactics (120) you can bring 12 units into a battle at one time. Clout - Clout is the "defensive" stat. By increasing it your units can upgrade to higher mk's improving their Hit points, Armor, Speed, and Space (to equip better armor). Every 2 points in clout gives you 1 UQ (unit/upgrade quality), therefore, odd numbers for clout are not useful. Education - Education is the "offensive" stat. Increasing education enables your units to equip more advanced weapons and armor. Every two points in education gives you 1 TL (Tech Level), therefore odd numbers of education are not useful. Mechanical Aptitude - Mech Apt increases the maximum weight of your units. More weight allows your units to carry more and heavier equipment. Each point in MA (Mechanical Apptitude) gives you an additional 1/120 weight. So at max MA (120) your units will have twice their normal weight. What Stats to Start With
Well, you still have those 20 points to spend. I usually put points into tact until I've reached my goal (80, 100, or 120 depending on the build). It's good to even out clout and edu so that their points are being fully effective. (clout and edu only give benefits every 2 points remember?). So my suggestion is 23 tact, 6 clout, 6 edu, 5 ma to start. Once you've picked your stats hit select (or next) to move on to the nation selection. Picking a Planet
![]() Not a lot of hard decisions here since Relic is the only planet you can select at the start. There are two planets in Shattered Galaxy (though there have been more and less throughout it's history). Relic is the learner planet where the level cap is 20 for your commander and 25 for your units. Morgana Prime is the experienced planet where the real game play takes place. The max level on Morgana Prime is 99 (though you stop gaining stat points at 50. Additional levels are just for the reincarnation event) and max unit level is 60. At level 5 you can move up from the basic planet Relic to MP (Morgana Prime). Some players choose to stay on Relic for their entire SG lifetime never experiencing the full game, but this site does not cater to these players and does not provide Relic builds or strategies. Picking a Faction
![]() SG's gameplay involves endless warring between factions. It's possible to pledge between factions at some cost (depending on which planet you're on it will cost you all your units, and large sums of uranium). Your stay on Relic is temporary (or should be) so the faction you pick here won't matter too much as you'll get to pick a new faction when you move up to the normal planet. After you press OK you be ousted back to the main menu. Logging In
Whew, so now that you've finally created you hero it's time to actually log in and find out what this game is really about. The first thing to do is press the "Continue" button ![]() This screen should be pretty obvious what you need to do. Enter your ID and Password for the hero you just created and press start.
