The Zoo

First...

It's time to take a trip to the zoo to try out your freshly bought units. There's just one more thing to do, choose the units we're going to bring.
The Deployment Screen

Before engaging in a battle you need to select the units you want to bring via the deployment screen.

The deploment screen can be brought up by either pressing F7 on your keyboard or pressing the "Deployed Units" button as shown in figure 1.

Here in the unit deployment you choose which units you want to start with in battle. You can bring up the unit deployment while in battle when your currently deployed set dies or you retreat it.

On the top portion of the deployment screen there are 12 spots for units (relating to the 12 maximum units you are able to bring into battle at a time). These are for selecting which units you want to deploy.

The bottom of the unit deployment has your reserves which you can select units from.

To select a unit for deployment, drag it onto one of the 12 spots and release or double click the unit on the reserves. The Auto Deploy button will deploy units from the reserve, starting with the first visible one, until your deployment is full.

To deselect a unit for deployment, double click on a unit in one of the 12 deployment slots. The Clear button will remove all the units from the deployment slots.

There are two ways to sort the reserves, by name, and by type. By name sorts alphabetically, while by type sorts by division and unit type.

Select 6-7 units (based on your tact), preferably of the same type. In the zoo you'll need units that hit ground and can poc, therefore you shouldn't bring manticores (as they hit air), or aviation/flying organic (because air cannot poc).
Entering the Zoo

The Zoo is located at C2. Head over to it and you are rewarded with the battle info screen.

The Battle Info tells you which players from your faction are currently in the battle, and which players from an enemy faction are currently in the battle. Finally, it shows the squad you'll start the battle with (based on which units you set up for deployment). Hit attack and get ready for your battle.
Inside the Zoo

The zoo is what's called an alien cave. Here the native hostile aliens gather, waiting for their chance to rise to the surface (and they will, if a map goes untouched for an extended period of time.

The goal once again is to capture the poc, this time located in B4. Remember, you've got to stand on that poc a significant period of time (for the zoo 30 seconds) so you might have to run away from a few fights to make sure you make it with enough hp.
XP Earned

By compleating your visit to the zoo you'll earn exp for your units (and if a unit level up, for your hero).
